late, and cold, I express those were my first impressions of the "presentation" of my life. I am speaking with reference to the one held last week for my book (whose website is linked right here on the left) at the library Icarus in Lecce.
I have to say which, after all, including anxiety and tension, the end is something that gives you energy. Energy expressing concepts, a desire to clarify the issues and talk about it to know or at least try to understand what I wanted to convey. A book is difficult to "talk" .. a book is read and leaves you emotionally involved, a book you live, at least as I see it. For this reason I fear that the speeches would not have made what the book actually is. Naturally so, for the reasons described above. But I must admit that I liked, I gave a series of sensations inevitably never felt before, it was a spontaneous confrontation with nothing prepared, even because of what I understood to be the way of presenting and interviewing Stefano Donno, the critic who has stood by me on the occasion. I thank you for your interest and appreciation that has shown towards my work.
E 'was great because in the end we looked like two friends talking about a book, so much so, that were also involved friends who were in the front rows. E 'was great because I did not expect so many were, to be present. And see you all there together in the face, ready to listen, that they were friends, relatives, or people who did not know (and maybe I appreciated knowing) was something important.
Do not tell me however that it is an autobiography. It is not. Do not ask me "but this really happened, not really happen?". It 's a novel inspired by the fact that I lived a bit' of years ago, but as a novel needs its large dose of imagination to give a "feeling" the right and interest and pathos to the story. So take it as such, a novel, not a diary or utter a description of real life. I even tried to make it possible to engage with more stories and that, for better or for worse, each of us may have lived or still live, and therefore may be able to understand. I do not know if there are more or less successful, but I just wanted try to convey an emotion, what is ultimately the important thing, that counts. I close here, I will not be on the subject.
Finally .. it is true that in the presentation he spoke little issue of "music" related to the book, but it is not a problem, however we thought Ilaria Pellegrino with a review to give prominence! :-) Okay ...
presentation will never actually read like a book ... however, overcome the initial anxiety (hopefully understandable) .. .. Be able to find a spirit of familiarity and intimacy among the fifty or sixty present does not always happen and it was really nice. It will be a day I will not forget. Thank you very much indeed.
